INSTRUCTIONS FOR CURLY HAIR

WARNING: This post will only be interesting to people with curly hair.

The most common question I get asked is not “How did you get into comedy?” but “What products do you use on your hair?” And I get it ladies, curly hair is tricksy. So for my fellow curly heads, here are all my secrets.

TIP 1.
Most important, put your product in when your hair is SOAKING wet. I use John Frieda Curl Reviver Mousse or KMS Curl Up Wave Foam. Keep your hair product in the shower. Shampoo, condition, squeeze some water out of your hair, then add your product before you even get out of the shower.

TIP 2.

Never never towel dry hair before adding product or you're destined to be a fuzz ball. In fact never towel dry your hair at any point. Let it dry naturally – which means walking around with a towel around your shoulders to stop the water dripping down your back, or using a hairdryer, on a low setting with a diffuser. Either way it will take a while.
TIP 3.

Use loads of product. All this business of "use an amount the size of a twenty cent piece".  Garbage. On the side of the pack of any product for curly hair, it should say "use heaps". Once your hair is dry and curly, shake it out a bit with your fingers then use John Frieda Secret Weapon (the best product ever) Smooth it all over your curls, specially into the ends. Again, don't be shy with it and don't be gentle, use plenty and go hard. Secret Weapon is also the best thing for "sticking your curls back together" on a bad fuzz day.

NB:

I'm not sponsored by any of the products I mentioned, I certainly have not been paid by John Frieda or KMS (more's the pity cos unfortunately both these brands are quite pricey). I hope this helps any fellow curly heads and to anyone else, apologies for the boring musing but I did warn you.
